Our editorial guidelines
These quality, word count and HD photo requirements apply to both free editorial contributions and paid sponsored articles. Payment does not exempt an article from editorial review or guarantee acceptance.
- Submit original, unpublished work with clear, practical advice. We do not accept copied articles or inaccurate claims.
- Articles should be 400–600 words, excluding the author bio and source list. Agree any exception with us before submitting.
- Low-quality articles are not accepted. Submissions must be well structured, clearly written, accurate and useful to our fashion readers. We reject thin or repetitive content, keyword stuffing, excessive promotion and articles with frequent spelling or grammar errors. Meeting the word count alone does not qualify an article for publication.
- Use a readable structure and support factual claims with reliable sources. Keep promotional language out of editorial articles.
- Supply clear, high-resolution (HD) photos, at least 1,200 pixels on the longest edge. Photos must be sharp, relevant to the article and free from visible pixelation; do not enlarge small images to meet this requirement. Only supply images you own or have permission to publish. Include credits and permission details.
- Suggest links only where they help the reader. We review all links and may edit or remove them.
Editorial contributions and sponsorships
We consider suitable editorial contributions free of publication charges, with a limit of one free article per contributor per calendar month. Each article requires editorial approval; the monthly limit does not guarantee acceptance. Acceptance depends on relevance, originality and editorial quality.
Our introductory sponsored article price is US$25 per article. This covers one contributor-supplied article of 400–600 words, editorial review, basic formatting and one approved business link. Article writing, photography and social media promotion are not included. Submit your article for approval before payment; we confirm the scope and payment details after acceptance. Sponsored content is clearly labelled.
Link limits
Both free and paid articles may include one relevant contributor or business link, plus up to two links to reliable sources that support the article. The contributor link may appear in the article or author bio, not both. We review every link and may edit or remove links that do not help readers.
Free editorial links are assessed individually; we do not guarantee dofollow links. Paid promotional links are always marked rel="sponsored" and may also include nofollow. We do not sell paid dofollow links.
How to submit
Email [email protected] with the subject Wardrobe Journal — Article Pitch. Include:
- Your proposed title, a short outline and who the article will help.
- Your name, a brief author bio and relevant writing samples, if available.
- Any proposed links, image sources and brand or agency relationship.
- Whether your pitch is an editorial contribution or a sponsored collaboration.
Send an outline first. If you have a draft ready, you can share it as a document link with viewing access.
Monthly publication limits
We accept a maximum of eight guest articles per calendar month across the site: up to two free editorial contributions and up to six paid sponsored articles. Each contributor may receive only one free publication per calendar month. All submissions must meet our editorial standards; available places do not guarantee acceptance. We will review these limits after the first three months.
How long articles stay live
Accepted articles have no fixed expiry date. We do not promise permanent publication. We may update or remove an article if it becomes outdated, inaccurate or breaches our editorial guidelines.
What happens next
We review each pitch for fit and may request revisions. Submission does not guarantee publication. Accepted articles may be edited for clarity, accuracy and house style. We do not guarantee search rankings, indexing, traffic or publication dates.
